Newsletter January 22nd-25th

Math:  This week we will complete lessons 63 through 65.  We will review on Friday and have a Test on Monday, January 28th.

Reading: Our theme this week is precipitation.  Although we do not have much precipitation here in St. Louis this year we are still going to read Snow Flake Bentley.
I need to approve all books before you read them.  Only a few weeks left to finish the report, please  pick your book soon!
The book report must be in a box of any size for example a shoe box or a small Rubbermaid tub from the dollar store are easy options.  The book report will be given to the class by the student they will need to have written down what they want to say about their book, either on an index card or a piece of paper so they know what to say about each artifact.
Due Thursday, February 7th

Art: We are learning about artist Sonia Delaunay.  She uses colors and shapes in her artwork in a style called Abstract Art.  The students will replicate her artwork called "Electrical Prism" using different sized circles.  The students have started painting their projects.  We will continue painting this week, hopefully finishing up on Friday.
