Newsletter November 25th-27th

Math: This week students will complete Lessons 43 and 44.

Reading: From now until Christmas we will be reading through the book, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.  There will be a project, questions, vocabulary, and group work with this unit.  

Art: This week students are finishing their own movement in art like artist Sonia Delaunay.
  


Library Days: Each Tuesday the 4th graders are able to select two reading books of their choice. Please note that books need to be turned in by 8:20 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Scholastic Book Club: You may place book orders online through Scholastic Book Club through Wednesday, December 11th.  These will be here in time for Christmas, if you plan on giving any of these book orders as Christmas gifts please let me know I can arrange to give them to you at a different time.  Check out the catalog online. Pizza Hut Book IT!  Read Your Heart Out!
Book IT! Parent Letter - Please Read
From October - March your child will have an opportunity to fill out their Book IT! reading calendar saying they read 20 minutes a day.  When they turn in their form, they will receive a certificate to Pizza Hut for a free, one-topping Personal Pizza for their reading achievement.
Find a good book and start reading!
Please continue to fill out your November calendar reading minutes!

Each class will compete to collect the most box tops for the school.  The box tops are collected and turned in for money used to support the school.

Math: Students will complete Investigation 4B then review for a Test Wednesday, then work on lessons 41 and 42.

Reading: Our theme this week is The Great Plains Indians.  There will be a quiz on Friday reviewing Reading Skills and Vocabulary.

Newsletter November 11th-15th

CCLS Sunday: Please join us for worship at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Sunday, November 10th at the 9:00 a.m. service.  The middle school choir will be singing.  Please join us as we thank the congregation for supporting our school.

Student Teacher: Ms. Peacock is student teaching with Mrs. Brannan and I until Christmas.  She is completing her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education through Concordia University - Seward, Nebraska.  She is teaching to the 4th graders while she is here.  Please give her a CCLS welcome when you see her. :)  

Math: Students will complete Lessons 37-40 and Investigation 4A. 

Reading: Our theme this week is Snakes. In my opinion-yuck!! Students will work through a few stories such as Dear Mr. Winston while practicing comprehension and drawing conclusion skills.

Art: This week students will begin learning about artists Sonia Delaunay and how she used different circles and colors to express herself through artwork.
