Please mark your calendar for the WONDER Jewelry Gift Boutique 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Kirkwood Campus. Benefitting CCLS-Uganda and Refuge, a St. Louis home for sex trafficked girls.  Beads of Love for Uganda and Monarch Jewelry will be sold along with other Christmas gift items

Newsletter October 12th-16th

Math: In Math this week the students will complete lessons 25-26, Review Tuesday, and Test Thursday.

Reading: Students are working on Events and the Character's Reaction to events.  We will be reading "Rafting - Ready or Not" and "The Raft" this week.
Art: We are learning about artist Louise Nevelson.  She was a fantastic artist who repurposed pieces of wood and objects left for trash and turned them into sculptures of art.  Your student will be creating their own Louise Nevelson sculpture.  
We are looking for donations this week and next.
Objects such as: 
  • wooden pieces
  • plastic pieces that can be painted
  • wine corks
  • metal pieces: screws, nails, nuts/bolts
  • pasta 
  • and many other random objects

Library Days: Thursdays are our library day please help remind your student to bring back all library books on Thursdays.

Scholastic Book Club:  You may place book orders online through Scholastic Book Club through Friday, October 30th.  Check out the catalog online.  Please use our parent code to log in and order your books.  There is also a scholastic link to the Book Club page on the right side of this blog.  Happy Reading!

Reading: Students are working on describing characters from a story.  We will be working on adjectives and character traits this week as well as next.  In our reading book we will read The Astronaut and the Onion

Art: We are learning about artist Louise Nevelson.  She was a fantastic artist who repurposed pieces of wood and objects left for trash and turned them into sculptures of art.  Your student will be creating their own Louise Nevelson sculpture.
