Reading: Students are working on describing characters from a story. We will be working on adjectives and character traits this week as well as next. In our reading book we will read The Astronaut and the Onion.
Art: We are learning about artist Louise Nevelson. She was a fantastic artist who repurposed pieces of wood and objects left for trash and turned them into sculptures of art. Your student will be creating their own Louise Nevelson sculpture.
We are looking for donations this week and next.
Objects such as:
- wooden pieces
- plastic pieces that can be painted
- wine corks
- metal pieces: screws, nails, nuts/bolts
- pasta
- and many other random objects
Library Days: Thursdays are our library day please help remind your student to bring back all library books on Thursdays.
Scholastic Book Club: You may place book orders online through Scholastic Book Club through Friday, October 30th. Check out the catalog online. Each class will compete to collect the most box tops for the school. The box tops are collected and turned in for money used to support the school. Please feel free to bring in your BOX TOPS whenever you have them.
