Newsletter January 14th - 18th

Math:  This week we will have a review Monday for a Test Tuesday over lessons 1-55.  Wednesday will be an investigation focusing on Displaying Data Using Graphs.  Then we will complete lessons 61 and 62.  

Reading: Our theme this week is learning about "People Who Made a Difference".  Christine King Farris also wrote another book MARCH ON! The Day My Brother Changed the World, it is a picture book that I read to the class.  They will learn about Martin Luther King Jr.'s life through his sisters words.  We will have a test over this story on Friday, January 18th.
Due Thursday, February 7th

Art: We are learning about artist Sonia Delaunay.  She uses colors and shapes in her artwork in a style called Abstract Art.  The students will replicate her artwork called "Electrical Prism" using different sized circles.  The students traced different size circular objects to start their project.  Monday students will begin painting their project.

 Character Development: This week we will be practicing speaking and listening skills with partners.  

Stacking Cups: The students are quickly getting the hang of speed stacking.  They are warming up their brains each morning with a few minutes of stacking.

CCLS is happy to announce that Mad Science After School Program will be back on our campus for 8 weeks starting January 22nd-March 12th.  Forms will be sent home with students and need to be returned no later than Friday, January 17th.
