Math:  This week we will start with a review Monday and a test Tuesday, December 12th.  Then we will do an investigation with Percents. Thursday and Friday we will work on adding and subtracting with more than 3 digits. Also, I am trying a new way to present lessons in math.  Three days this week students have watched me teach a lesson that I previously recorded, take video notes, and complete practice problems.  They have also been able to start and most completed their homework in class.  I am able to answer questions and they can each work at their own pace.  I have linked the videos to MyKoob through YouTube.  If you would like to see how the lesson is taught please feel free to watch me teach!

We will be working on several Christmas projects over the next two weeks.  One project, a manger scene, we will take with us when we visit the Little Sisters of the Poor on Monday, December 17th. Look for these Christmas projects as we prepare our hearts for the coming King this season.

Character Development: This week we discussed comfortable and uncomfortable emotions or feelings.  We listened to a story about a boy, Toby, who had uncomfortable feelings that he bottled up inside of him for one day and then felt like he was going to explode.  We talked about healthy ways to express your feelings such as talking to a friend or an adult, drawing a picture, and writing in a journal.
