Newsletter October 14th-18th

Math: Students will work through lessons 27-30 and begin a project on area.

Reading: We will continue to work with our Baseball theme this week and read the main story Mighty Jackie: The Strike-out Queen.  Students will be working on making inferences and analyzing the author's purpose for writing a story.  They will have a short quiz over Mighty Jackie: The Strike-Out Queen with vocabulary and a check point about author's purpose on Friday.

Book Report:  Mystery
Due: Thursday, October 17th
When reading their book, students should take notes on these items: main character, setting, conflict, supporting characters, rising action, connections, climax and resolution, and finally their personal review.  To find the notes page click here: Notes for Mystery Story
The final report will be typed in their Google Drive using a document I have created and shared with them. We will print them in class or you may print them at home.

Art: Please view your child's Animation Project: How Failure Leads to Success with them.  They look great!  Also, look for their completed sculptures hanging in the hallway.

Library Days: Each Tuesday the 4th graders are able to select two reading books of their choice. Please note that books need to be turned in by 8:20 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Please pray for Dr. Killian (Chad's Dad) and John and Beth Basler (CCLS parents) as they prepare for their medical mission trip to CCLS-Uganda.
